Taxi for Gibbs-White

Premier League and England International footballer Morgan Gibbs-White has been disqualified from driving under the totting up rule.

Gibbs-White, 25, of East Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, admitted six offences of speeding at an earlier hearing. He was sentenced at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Monday, 12th May 2025.

The court heard that all six offences took place on the A52 in the Ratcliffe-on-Trent area between December 2024 and February 2025.

On one of those occasions the Nottingham Forest midfielder was clocked at 96 mph in a 70 mph zone.

Magistrates endorsed Gibbs-White's licence with 3 penalty points for each offence. He was also fined £666 for each offence (£3,996 in total) and ordered to pay £1,589 surcharge and £110 towards prosecution costs.

Having accumulated more than 12 points of his licence, Gibbs-White was disqualified from driving for a period of 6 months.

I should point out, in case it is not apparent, that the maximum sentence for speeding otherwise than on a motorway is a fine of £1,000. Gibbs-White was also entitled to one-third off his sentence by virtue of his early guilty plea.

As a reader of the late Bystanders Magistrates' Blog I was delighted to come across this worthy replacement. Keep up the good work.
