New Year Honours for Magistrates

Congratulations to the following individuals who have received awards in the 2023 New Years Honours list in relation to their work in the Magistrates' Court:

Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE):

  • Gwynneth Bellman JP, of the Greater Manchester Bench, for services to the administration of justice and community in Greater Manchester.
  • David Robert Lockyer, Legal Advisor, Westminster Magistrates' Court, for public and voluntary service.
  • Karen Lesley Williams, Administrative Officer, Welshpool Magistrates' Court, for services to the administration of justice and charity.

Congratulations also to these Justices of the Peace who received awards in relation to their work outside the Magistrates' Court:

  • Aneeta Prem JP, of the East London Bench, Founder and President, Freedom Charity, for services to charity.
  • Cynthia Shaw JP, of the Supplemental List (formerly South Yorkshire Bench), for services to the community in Rotherham.
