Teenage Tearaway Mizzy Jailed

Teenage tearaway and social media influencer Mizzy has been jailed for two breaches of his criminal behaviour order.

Mizzy, real name Bacari-Bronze O'Garro, 19, of Manor Road, Hackney, was convicted of two breaches of a criminal behaviour order following a trial at Stratford Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 26th October 2023.

He appeared at Stratford Magistrates' Court for sentencing on Tuesday, 21st November 2023.

District Judge Matthew Bone sentenced O'Garro to 18 weeks' detention in a young offender's institution and ordered him to pay £154 surcharge.

Addressing O'Garro, DJ Bone said: "Putting it bluntly, your pranks are not funny."

The Judge noted that O'Garro was motivated by the "desire to be famous" and the allure of "money and designer clothes from sponsors".

He added: "Your actions caused innocent members of the public significant harm and distress. You claimed on national television the law was weak."

DJ Bone also added extra conditions to O'Garro's order, which now prohibits him from sharing videos on social media, acting with others to do so, or posting on anyone else's social media account for a period of two years.

It also bans him from trespassing on private property or entering the E12 postal district of London.

Speaking of O'Garro's sentence, Detective Chief Inspector Yasmin Lalani of the Metropolitan Police, said: "I just think it is appropriate, when you have disregard for the law, I think it is a fitting sentence and I hope that he gets some help.

"I think it is a loud and clear message that nobody is above the law and that you have got to be held accountable."

She added: "I think the right result has come through, more for the public as well, because I think the community were upset with the lack of respect for the law of the country and the distress and harassment he was causing, it was a blatant disregard for the harassment and distress for the community."
