The retrial of former neonatal nurse Lucy Letby gets underway at Manchester Crown Court today.
Letby, 34, who worked at the Countess of Chester Hospital, was convicted of murdering seven babies in her care and attempting to murder six more.
She made two attempts on the life of one of the babies, so was convicted of seven counts of attempted murder.
The jury was unable to return a verdict in relation to the attempted murder of Child K, a premature baby girl delivered only a few hours earlier, on 17th February 2016.
Letby is being retried on that single count.
Mr Justice Goss, the original trial judge, will also preside over the retrial, which is expected to last around four weeks.
As in the original trial Nick Johnson KC is leading the prosecution; Ben Myers KC is leading the defence.
Letby was recently refused leave to appeal against her earlier convictions.
