Chelsea FC star Enzo Fernandez has been banned from the roads after failing to identify the driver of a vehicle registered in his name.
Failure to identify the driver of a vehicle is an offence under section 172(3) of the Road Traffic Act 1988. It has a maximum penalty of a fine at level 3 (£1,000) and 6 penalty points.
Fernandez was previously convicted of two section 172 offences. He was sentenced in absence at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 11th September 2024.
The midfielder already had 9 penalty points active on his licence as a result of previous speeding convictions.
For each offence Fernandez was fined £1,000 and ordered to pay £110 prosecution costs. He was also ordered to pay £800 statutory surcharge (40% of the total fine amount of £2,000).
Magistrates endorsed his licence with a further 6 penalty points for each offence, which means he is now disqualified from driving for the next 6 months under the totting up rule.
