Ebs Akintade: Z-List Broadcaster Facing Prison for Stalking Yet Another Ex-Partner

Former BBC London and Radio Jackie presenter Ebs Akintade, most recently seen reviewing the newspapers on Talk TV, is facing prison after being convicted of stalking yet another of his ex-boyfriends.

Ebunolu Akintade, 42, of Rayon Close, Hacken, SM6, admitted this most recent stalking offence when he appeared at Bexley Magistrates' Court on Monday, 25th September 2023.

He appeared for sentencing at the same court on Tuesday, 14th November 2023. However, having considered Akintade's previous convictions and pre-sentence report, the bench decided its sentencing powers were insufficient and has sent the matter to Woolwich Crown Court for sentencing.

Simple stalking, for want of a better expression, is an offence under section 2A of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997. It has a maximum penalty of 26 weeks' custody on summary conviction. The fact that this case is being sent to the Crown Court for sentencing indicates that it has been charged as an aggravated form of the offence, although I am unsure exactly what.

As reported previously on Magistrates' Blog, Akintade has convictions for the stalking and harassment of (another) former partner, estate agent Tom Chandler. However, dark forces, no doubt instigated by Akintade himself, have subsequently attempted to have news of those convictions removed from the web.

I have to say that I find Akintade quite a loathsome, hypocritical and arrogant character - on the one hand he's feigning squeaky-cleanliness and desperately seeking stardom; on the other it would appear that either he, or someone acting on his behalf, is trying hide all references to his criminality from the web.

He really does strike me as some sort of narcissistic social misfit, who struggles to maintain healthy relationships with his ex-partners. I have little doubt that he'll be tapping away on his keyboard tonight, desperately looking for websites that have dared to call him out on his abysmal conduct.

Magistrates heard that Akintade's most recent bout of stalking took place between 1st August and 30th November 2022. The offence was committed in very similar circumstances to his previous stalking - he'd been kicked into touch by his partner, described as an NHS worker, and couldn't accept the relationship was over.

Just as he'd done previously, Akintade made multiple unwanted phone calls and paid multiple unsolicited visits to the address of his ex-partner. He also set up a fake dating app account in an effort to rekindle their relationship.

Speaking in a victim impact statement, the man said: "He was completely fixated on me. At the time of the incident I was petrified. He would turn up unannounced and sit outside... I had to change the locks, I put furniture up against my door."

Akintade is subject to a restraining order that prohibits all contact with the man.

He will be sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court on a date yet to be confirmed. He is unlikely to be seen reviewing the papers on Talk TV anytime soon.

Update (20/12/23): Akintade was sentenced by HHJ Christopher Grout on Tuesday, 12th December 2023.

I hope his employer knows about this. It’s now in the Standard. I hope he gets as big a sentence as possible as he so deserves. It comments he has received counselling and has admitted it. It doesn’t he say he is sorry for his actions. That’s because he doesn’t see why he has done wrong which makes him dangerous

“He really does strike me as some sort of narcissistic social misfit…” Ouch! He won’t like that. Sounds about right though.

Sounds completely delusional to me, ideas of grandeur much?

Maybe it's time an example is made. Two separate court cases and who knows how many previous partners were too frightened to report the abuse, it's going to take more than a few counselling sessions to fix him.

He's dangerous, there should be a list of offenders like him so people can protect themselves!

It would be interesting if those at Talk TV, celebrity friends such as Heather Small and his immediate friends are aware of the latest visits to court over the last few months, he strikes me as a person who likes to hide these stories from the public; pretending to be this well spoken individual who cares when in fact he seems to be a very dark twisted individual with no family to love him, god help his parents if they are alive and what he has put them through, pure evil, May the judge throw him in prison and throw away the key after
